NJ Septic Inspection Offers Second Opinions on Repairs and Maintenance

February 12, 2016 by Mike Acito

Most people’s awareness of their septic system is limited to, “pull the handle, watch the flush,” and the vague knowledge that there’s a tank of objectionable material buried somewhere in their lush New Jersey backyard. Indeed, it’s easy to not even think about this vital component of your house – that is, until there’s a problem.

The repair costs for septic systems can be very expensive. If you’ve been handed an astronomical quote by a sewage company on a septic repair, it’s easy to be overwhelmed. However, before you cut a four or five figure check – or give up and start using a bucket – it’s a good idea to seek out a second opinion with a NJ septic inspection. There’s no better option than New Jersey’s own Classic Septic Inspection.

Much like you would with your car or your health, it’s a good idea to get bad news in your septic tank confirmed before taking action. Classic Septic Inspection in New Jersey does a complete evaluation of your septic system. This includes checking the tank, the fixtures, and the pipes, surveying the system, landscape, and drainage field layout, and examining for wear or damage.

We even have a fiber optic camera that we feed through lines in the system to check for problems. We check for system efficiency, make sure it will meet your water requirements, and insure that it complies with local codes. When you’ve got a major issue, we investigate it and come up with a repair plan.

Because Classic Septic Inspections does not do repairs, you can rely on the fair information we provide. Our findings are an honest appraisal of the situation, and we have no stake in the amount of work or parts needed to fix your septic system.

We’re not going to jack up the price to make money or suggest unnecessary work or parts replacement. We’ll just advise you on the state of your system, and what actions you need to take to get it working properly. We might even be able to save you money!

If you suspect problems with your septic system or would like to insure it is working properly, schedule a NJ septic inspection with Classic Septic Inspections.

Fiber Optic Cameras Lead to the Most Thorough Septic Inspections in NJ

February 8, 2016 by Mike Acito

The septic system is undoubtedly one of the most important components of your house, and also it’s one of the most difficult and expensive to repair in the event of a problem. Trust us, you don’t know what inconvenient is until you have to take your showers at the neighbors, and use the toilet at the New Jersey state park down the road for a week. And that’s not even mentioning the four or five figure repair bill that can often accompany a major septic repair.

Fortunately, most septic problems can be dealt with cheaply and easily at the initial stage, before they blow up into a full-blown catastrophe that’s backed up all over the lawn. But, since the majority of your septic system is in the walls, floor, and buried underground, how are you supposed to know if there’s a problem with it? The answer is with a NJ septic inspection from a professional company like New Jersey’s own Classic Septic Inspections.

Your septic system is a complex organism that can involve multiple floors, a number of pipes, baffles, and fixtures, major excavation, and a large subterranean section. A complicated system like that requires a high-tech assessment from true professionals, and with Classic Septic Inspections, that’s what you get.

Classic Septic inspections of NJ feature the use of tiny, state-of-the-art fiber optic cameras related to those used in medical procedures.

NJ Septic Inspection Company Provides Most Accurate Inspection Available:

The obvious colonoscopy jokes and comparisons aside, there’s no better way to find out what’s going on in your septic system than with a fiber optic inspection. A fiber optic septic inspection feeds a small camera through the pipes and lines in your septic system, examining connections and checking for breaks, leaks, and cracks. It’s the most accurate inspection available, literally giving you a picture of the inside of your septic system.

While they might not put that picture on a post card, it will show you the condition of your septic system and discover any tiny problems that could become big, expensive problems if left unchecked. Make sure that this key part of your home that gets used every day is in tip top shape. Call Classic Septic Inspections in NJ today!

If you suspect problems with your septic system or would like to insure it is working properly, schedule a NJ septic inspection with Classic Septic Inspections. Classic Septic does not do septic system repairs. We are strictly an inspection company.

How to Avoid Cold Weather Septic Disasters

January 27, 2016 by Mike Acito

Winter is upon us, and the snowstorms and freezing temperatures it brings are likely to hang around longer than anyone wishes. While it’s common practice to bundle up your children and winter-proof your car, few people consider the effects that winter can have on a septic system – that is, until it’s too late, and they’re stuck shelling out $10,000 because of a frozen septic tank.

Properly installed and well-maintained septic systems are less likely to face cold-induced problems. One surefire way to check if your septic system is prepared for sub-freezing temperatures is to get a septic inspection.

During a NJ septic inspection, professionals from Classic Septic Inspections will be able to advise you on actions to take to protect your system. New Jersey septic inspection company Classic Septic, offers some additional advice for homeowners wondering about the effects of Old Man Winter on their system.

NJ Septic Inspection Experts Offer Tips for Freezing Temperatures:

The number one winter enemy of septic systems is freezing temperatures. Though it seems counterintuitive, it’s actually preferable for there to be snow on the ground when it’s below 32 degrees, because the extra ground covering helps insulate the subterranean components of a septic system. If there is a long stretch of extreme cold without snow, it’s a good idea to cover the ground above your septic tank and drain field with leaves, hay, mulch, or even a concrete blanket.

Another area to pay attention to is the spot next to your house where the outpipe from your home leads to the tank. This area often doesn’t receive snow coverage, and is the most susceptible to water from small leaks pooling and freezing, causing cracks or blockages. Cover this area with a layer of one of the insulating materials mention above, or even with snow. Be sure to fix leaks in fixtures or faucets, because even a small trickle can freeze, block, or crack pipes.

Your routine water usage will help keep your system running smoothly, but if you’re in the middle of an extended deepfreeze, a good way to prevent problems is to send warm water through the pipes at least once daily.

Taking a warm bath or running a load of wash with hot water are both good ways to accomplish this. If you’re not going to be home for several days where freezing temps are forecasted, it’s important to have someone come through and run water for several minutes to keep things flowing.

Do not leave water running constantly – not only is this bad for the environment, but it can also oversaturate your septic system, leading to a host of unpleasant, expensive problems. As always, if there is any question about your septic system’s winter fortitude, a septic inspection will help address any concerns.
